When you’re hauling kayaks, cargo boxes, or camping gear, solid crossbars make all the difference. The Rhino-Rack Vortex Roof Rack gives you a complete setup with two 49" long aluminum crossbars that feel sturdy and dependable on the road. They provide plenty of space for loading different mounts and attachments while keeping everything balanced and supported up to 165 lbs. The aluminum build is tough enough for long trips but still light enough for easy handling.
No one likes that loud whistling from roof racks at highway speeds. The aero-style shape of the Vortex bars helps smooth airflow over your roof, and the rubberized Vortex strips in the top channels reduce drag and wind noise even more. The result is a cleaner, quieter ride when you’re hauling gear to the water or heading out on a road trip.
This rack is built to handle whatever adventure you have planned. It’s compatible with most bike racks, watersport carriers, snow gear, and cargo boxes—whether they mount in the top channels or clamp around the bars. You can keep using your favorite gear setups without needing new adapters, which makes switching between summer kayak runs and winter ski trips simple.
The rack includes integrated plastic locks in the crossbars to help deter theft of channel-mount accessories, so your gear stays secure when you step away. For those who want even more confidence, you can upgrade to all-metal locks (RRVA-LEC4 – sold separately). Lockable cover plates on the legs also secure the rack itself to your roof for extra protection on overnight trips or busy parking lots.
If your vehicle doesn’t have factory rails, this system is designed specifically for that setup. It mounts directly to your naked roof using a custom fit kit that keeps a tight, secure hold without damaging paint or trim. Once installed, it looks like it belongs there—streamlined and ready for whatever adventure you’ve got planned next.

Still happy. Theres a whistle, but you can fix it with a bit of foam insulation in the bottom of the rail.

Still rock solid after a year. Very happy with the Rack. My daughter has used it from time to time over the past year when something wont fit in her car, and shes had no problems with it at all.
